About the Health Digital Workplace Program

Our Digital Workplace Program is exploring the potential for continued telework/flexible work environment for staff and leaders based on experience of leaders and staff.

Press Ganey administered a survey in Jan. 2021 and led focus groups to understand how long-term remote work arrangements could be implemented successfully - by those already working remotely. The focus of their assessment is to inventory best practices, technology needs, and policies and processes that support remote work, as well as create the optimal physical work environments for leaders and staff.

  • 1,076 Skills Inventory Respondents
  • 14 Focus Groups - 154 Invitations / 54 Attendees
  • 73.3% of all respondents currently work full time or hybrid remote
  • 15.3% of remote workers are leaders and 84.7% are staff
  • 46.6% of all leaders in DWP currently work full time or hybrid remote

Top Insights and Key Drivers

  1. The transition to a remote work environment has been successful and there is an overall desire to continue remote work in the future, particularly from staff
  2. Leaders demonstrated agility in transitioning to remote telework
  3. Looking toward permanent remote and hybrid work there is now a need for a framework and guidelines to continue to promote remote digital telework
  4. When staff expressed adequate feedback and communication existed, staff had the highest positive responses
  5. When staff expressed that their leaders fostered accountability and managed remote employees effectively, staff had the highest positive responses
