Identify Emergency Contact in UCPath if Detained/Arrested at Work
UC recently updated the California Workplace – Know Your Rights notice, which outlines employee rights and responsibilities in the workplace as it pertains to their immigration status.
As part of this update, UCPath now allows employees to designate an emergency contact to be notified in the event they are arrested or detained at work related to immigration enforcement.
What Employees Should Do
- Log in to UCPath and review your Emergency Contacts.
- If appropriate, add a new contact under Contact if Detained/Arrested. This contact may be the same as, or different from, your preferred emergency contact. However, the name entered must be unique and cannot duplicate an existing contact (e.g., use a different spelling or include a middle initial).
- Take the opportunity to ensure your primary emergency contact information is accurate and up to date.
