How do I fix compatibility view issues?

Compatibility View in Internet Explorer

If you are in the UC Learning Center and things don't look right--you might notice missing or out-of-place menus, images, and text boxes. Perhaps information that normally appears is suddenly gone or a class will not start properly. What's going on? One possible explanation: The site might have been designed for an earlier version of Internet Explorer. If Internet Explorer recognizes that the webpage isn't compatible, you'll see the Compatibility View button on the Address bar (just right of the URL). Try clicking it.

Small Compatibility Icon

In Compatibility View, websites will be displayed as if you were viewing them in a previous version of Internet Explorer, which will often correct display problems.

To permanently display a website in Compatibility View

Click on "Tools" (Menu Bar). In the drop down box, select "Compatibility Settings"

Tools Menu

This allows you to add the current website to be displayed in Compatibility View. Click "Add"

Compatibility Settings

then close the Compatability View Settings box. You will be able to view this website without further problems.
