Ergonomic Awareness and Evaluation

This interactive course will explore basic ergonomic principles and how to identify common ergonomic problems that may exist in an office environment. Participants will receive a brief overview of the Cal OSHA 5110 Ergonomics Standard, campus ergonomics program and various ergonomic resources available on campus. Small group hands-on activities and discussions of ergonomic assessments and interventions will be included. By the end of the course, participants will be able to recognize types of ergonomic injuries, identify risk factors associated with these injuries, conduct basic computer workstation evaluations and provide basic ergonomic information. Participants will receive the resources necessary to start conducting basic ergonomic evaluations.
