Putting Your IIPP to Work

This course will help participants create and maintain an Injury/Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) and put it into action. Responsibilities, hazard evaluation, documentation, training, injury prevention and follow-up will be covered. This course will also include resources and techniques for reducing injuries, accident investigation and documentation, and injury reduction plans. Topics include:

• The elements of an IIPP
• Factors important to effective implementation of an IIPP
• The importance of scheduling review of the IIPP
• How to perform an accident investigation
• Evaluating departmental accident history and developing a focused injury reduction plan
• Establishing responsibilities for carrying out the departmental IIPP
• The importance of annual IIPP training for every member of the department and documentation of training
