This course covers hazard evaluations, types of hazard controls (e.g. elimination, engineering, protective equipment and administrative), the use of regulatory and consensus standards, and the basis for health and safety standards and protecting sensitive populations. Topics include:
- Identifying and evaluating hazards
- Key concepts of toxicity and the potential of physical and ergonomic hazards
- Ways to control hazards, including hazard elimination and use of protective equipment or administrative controls
- Regulatory and consensus standards
- Key elements of exposure standards
