Effective Communication in the Workplace

Good communication skills are imperative for outstanding performance and career management. This course covers the fundamental skills of successful communication with colleagues, supervisors and customers that will aid in increasing understanding and decreasing misunderstanding. Such skills include self-assessment, communicating more clearly with perception checking and precise language, listening, nonverbal communication, and decreasing defensiveness. Participants will learn:

  • How to use less abstract and more concrete language
  • How we communicate with body language
  • Barriers to attentive listening and how to overcome them
  • How to create positive communication climates
