University policy and California state law prohibit employees from engaging in activities that place them in a conflict of interest between their university activities and any other interest or obligation. This course addresses the most common examples of conflict of interest on campus and how to avoid them. Examples include acceptance and offerings of gifts or gratuities, additional compensation for services, unauthorized use of university facilities/resources for non-university or personal activity and employee-vendor relationships. This course also specifically addresses the requirements of the California Political Reform Act of 1974 and the responsibilities of Campus Designated Officials in the filing of Form 700 Statement of Economic Interest which is due April 1 each year.
