If you have direct responsibilities involving the administration of academic personnel, from recruiting new academic appointees, to the advancement of academics, to the issues related to compensation and leaves, even the issues surrounding conflict, then this certificate series is for you. The goal of the series is to emphasize participants' responsibility to think critically and to solve problems using appropriate policies and resources. The format ranges from web-based instruction (for the general information associated with academic personnel) and class lecture, to lively discussion, with special emphasis on interactive, real-life case scenarios and problem-solving challenges. Note: It is strongly recommended that "Academic Personnel Administration: Overview" be completed prior to attending any other course in the series. Participants who attend all eight courses in the series will receive a certificate of completion. |

Both seasoned and novice business officers will benefit from participating in the UC Davis Business Officer Certificate Series. UC Davis business officers may want to attend the University of California Business Officer Institute as well as the UC Davis Business Officer Certificate Series. However, participants in the UC Davis series need not have attended the UC program to participate locally. The UC Davis series allows business officers to select a curriculum tailored to their business management strengths, skills and needs. It is designed as a complement to the curriculum offered through the systemwide BOI.
